There’s a big difference between being exposed to a large audience, and being exposed to a comparatively smaller (but still large) audience which is ridiculously passionate.

The former is very nice; the latter is priceless.

Your job, your internet access, your education, your role in a civilized society... all of them are a platform, a chance to do art, a way for you to give back and to honor those that enabled you to get to this point.

For every person reading this there are a thousand people (literally a thousand) in underprivileged nations and situations that would love to have your slot. Don't waste it.

It’s our theory that it can be done by catering to a local community, very much like the corner shop.  At this moment businesses have little money to spare, so they want to spend it with brands that they trust. If a creative entrepreneur caters to a specific community they can begin to build contacts, referrals, and trust.

Even as Wall Street is being occupied and corporations are reviled, there is a revolution quietly raging across the country that empowers corporations to be a strong force for good. This week, California joined that revolution when Governor Jerry Brown created two new classes of corporations for businesses that seek to pursue both profit and purpose: Benefit Corporations and Flexible Purpose Corporations.

Sometimes you spend days coding what you thought was a particularly cool feature and then it turns out that it just annoys your users. There will be times when you’ll need to put your ego to one side and let your beautiful code go.
